Description: | The DVBIA invites you to join us on July 24, 2019 for Roundtable with Mayor of the Township of Langley, Jack Froese, and Mayors’ Council Secretariat Mike Buda. Mayor Froese and Mike Buda will talk about the plans that the Mayors’ Council and TransLink have for transit expansion in the region. They will discuss how residents and businesses — as part of the Mayors’ Council's "Cure Congestion" campaign — can call on federal parties and candidates to commit to working in partnership with the mayors to keep Metro Vancouver moving. Mayor Jack Froese, Township of Langley, Vice-Chair of the Mayors’ Council Elected to office in 2011, Mayor Jack Froese is currently serving his third term as the Township of Langley’s Mayor. He also serves on the Metro Vancouver Board and Chairs its Zero Waste Committee. For 40 years, Mayor Jack Froese has lived, worked and raised a family in Langley. He is the successful owner of a family run business. Jack is also a retired Police Officer from the Vancouver Police Department. Mike Buda, Executive Director, Mayors’ Council Secretariat Mike is a public policy executive with over a decade of experience in transportation policy, municipal government, stakeholder engagement, governance and communications. Mike has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Victoria, and has worked for the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, local governments in Greater Victoria, as well as international NGOs in Canada and Australia.
