Meet the Legends
The Honourable Janet Austin, appointed as the 30th Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia in 2018, has a background in public service and philanthropy. She previously served as CEO of the YWCA Metro Vancouver, and as Chair of BC Housing's Board of Directors from 2015 to 2017, overseeing the development of a strategic plan for housing affordability and homelessness. Austin has received numerous awards for her community contributions.
A Canadian politician, businesswoman, and public speaker known for her contributions to public service and advocacy for housing, Joy MacPhail was appointed Chair of The Expert Panel on the Future of Housing Supply and Affordability in 2019. She is a director on the board of Covenant House Vancouver and Arthritis Research Canada. She was appointed to the board of Nch?kay Development Corporation in February 2022 and elected as Chair of British Columbia Ferry Services Board in June 2022.
Carole Taylor is a former BC Minister of Finance, journalist, and board member of multiple public and corporate entities, including TD Bank and CBC/Radio-Canada. She currently serves as the Host of BC Legends, Governor of the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade, Chancellor Emeritus at Victoria College and Simon Fraser University, and is a Member of the Trilateral Commission, Officer of the Order of Canada, and a Member of the Order of British Columbia.
