John has acquired over 20 years’ experience in corporate and private real estate development operations. He specializes in market assessment, project visioning, and design/construction and development operations. He has led and managed many significant developments and major re-zonings in a variety of real estate sectors including; mixed-use, residential, retail, office, health-services and industrial.

His formal education includes a Bachelor of Environmental Studies and Master of Architecture degrees from the University of Manitoba and a Diploma in Urban Land Economics from the UBC Sauder School of Business. He is a past President of NAIOP Vancouver and currently a Facility Committee member for the new waterfront Presentation House Gallery (Polygon Gallery).

Prior to his role at Serracan, John most recently served for 2 years as President of British Pacific Properties. Before that, he served 9 years at Wesgroup Properties where he last held the position of Vice President, Business and Development Strategy. In his role at Wesgroup, John’s primary mandate was to establish and grow the development operations from its inception. During his tenure, the development program successfully delivered well over 1 million square feet of new buildings in all asset classes, rezoned over 250 acres of land and was recognized by winning several real estate industry and community based awards.

John is currently involved with the delivery of a new 82,000 sf downtown office building at Pender & Seymour, a significant mixed-use rezoning in Vancouver and identifying potential new market and development opportunities for Serracan.
