FUTURE OF WORK: 
By the year 2020, Millennials are predicted to make up 50% of our workforce and this will continue increasing to 75% by 2050. But every year the workplace gets an infusion of young people, so why is this transition such a big deal? Combined with the fact that Generation Z started entering the workforce in 2018, and the fact that people over 65 years old are employed at higher rates than ever, there are now up to 5 generations in an organization. There are more similarities between these generations that people think! We'll talk about how to adapt to this multigenerational diversity and how the workplace design can meet their various needs through privacy considerations, increased wellness opportunities and hyper-collaborative team environments.

In fact, companies that promote collaboration in the workplace are five times more likely to be high performing and are more profitable. Many teams today are adopting design thinking methodologies and agile behaviors to structure their work. EMILY LEE - Design Portfolio Consultant, Steelcase
Emily’s role at Steelcase is to help leading organizations create places that support the wellbeing of their people while inspiring the people to love how they work. Led by intuition, backed by research, and driven by design, Emily represent brands that create furnishings for the modern workplace that bring new life to work. Passionate about helping companies – young and old, large and small – leverage space and activate culture to accelerate business results and help attract and retain employees.
As an experienced Interior Designer with a demonstrated history of working in the design industry and is WELL AP certified, she combines her eye for design, love for space planning, and passion for problem solving to tackle the challenges companies see in the workplace.
ROBIN ROSEBRUGH - Workplace Consultant, Steelcase
Robin has worked as a designer in commercial and residential interior and wayfinding design since 2011. Prior to the diploma program at BCIT for Interior Design, she completed her Bachelor in Science from UBC.  Robin has a strong passion for continually developing her education, specifically focusing on the influence that our designed environment has on our behaviors and wellbeing. Her role as a Workplace Consultant with Steelcase allows her to share her passions of both design and research with the architectural and design community. This collaboration with the A&D firms provides the client with the most current standards of workplace design on their projects so their space will perform optimally for their employees.
