Event Description:


Join Phil Gerstman of Atlus Group for our Lunch + Learn.

Phil will be highlighting property tax and assessment trends as well as discussing the taxation issues that are most pertinent to the development industry.  There will be a focus on subject matter pertinent to achieving the most beneficial tax classifications for development projects.  Other taxes such as property purchase tax, vacancy tax, school tax will also be explored.

BIO

PHIL GERTSMAN
Phil has been actively engaged in the property tax/valuation industry for 28 years.  He has been employed in both the Public (4 years) and Private (24+ years) sectors.  He is currently an Executive Vice President, for Altus Group – Realty Tax Consulting.  Prior to Altus Phil spent 8 years with Deloitte and Touche where he was a Tax Partner.  He began his private sector career by spending 7 years establishing a Canadian property tax practice for the consulting firm of Marvin F. Poer & Company.  Prior to entering the property tax field Phil was employed with Public Works Canada and also had his own real estate investment business. 

Phil has given numerous seminars and other presentations regarding valuation and property taxation matters to BOMA, Canadian Property Tax Association, Institute of Property Taxation, Institute of Real Estate Management, the Buildex show, among others.
