-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Province is working on a Stretch Code with UDI, stakeholders, and local government to allow municipalities to mandate energy efficiency requirements above and beyond the building code.

Join us and provide input to the plan and learn how this will impact your future business decisions and consumers. This is an important session about the future building requirements in the City of Vancouver and other municipalities.

In the next month, city staff will submit a report recommending adoption of the Zero Emissions New (ZEN) Building Plan. This will guide changes to the Green Rezoning Policies and Vancouver Building Bylaw which establishes mandates for green house gas and energy performance of new construction.

Our featured panel will be moderated by Jonathan Meads, Sustainability Manager of Concert Properties:
Listen and participate in a seminar discussion on:
  • Proposed time-stepped greenhouse gas and energy use limits for new buildings in Vancouver
  • Provincial stretch building code that municipalities will be able to mandate
  • Role of incentives and financial mechanisms
  • Process and implementation

We will also be Introducing the “Housing Choice and Environmental Impact Calculator”. This HPO funded initiative allows developers to calculate the environmental advantages of their higher density projects.
