From Panatch Group?s Rent-to-Own Program at 50 Electronic Avenue in Port Moody, to Chard Development?s homeownership program in Victoria, to creative thinking and how it can support first-time homebuyers get into the market from the perspective of Cressey Development Group, attendees will leave the conversation with an understanding of the collaboration and out-of-the-box thinking that is needed to create innovative homeownership programs targeted at first-time home buyers.

Byron Chard - President and CEO, Chard Development 

Since joining Chard Development in 2014, Byron has extended the company?s focus beyond residential development in Victoria to include purpose-built rental, affordable ownership and market condominium development in Victoria, Vancouver and North Vancouver. An accountant by education, Byron is highly engaged with the day-to-day operations of Chard and is responsible for the organization?s strategic direction including acquisitions, product mix, and sourcing debt and capital partners. In every project undertaken, he looks for ways to move British Columbians up the housing continuum through a diversity of housing, creative financing arrangements and not-for-profit partnerships.

Kush Panatch - Principal and Owner, 
Panatch Group
Kush Panatch brings over 25 years of knowledge and experience in development, finance, marketing and construction through his work as the principal and owner of Panatch Group. Panatch Group specializes in the acquisition and development of real estate, as well as providing equity financing to real estate developers. Kush, being an active developer, investor and adviser, is always looking for unique ways to solve problems.
 
Kush?s most recent project 50 Electronic Avenue is located in Port Moody. Kush, a community minded developer, kicked off his project with a ?locals first? initiative and a ?Rent-to-Own? program, giving those living in the community first access to the project as well as granting local, first time homebuyers an opportunity to purchase at 50 Electronic Avenue. Through collaboration with the City of Port Moody and Vancity, Panatch Group was able to put forward a unique financial model that helped first time buyers enter the market.

Jason Turcotte, Vice President of Development, Cressey Development Group
Jason Turcotte leads the development team at Cressey Development Group and oversees the planning, entitlement, design, and development of all condominium, mixed-use and rental projects. Jason joined Cressey in 2003 and has overseen the successful development of tens of projects and thousands of new homes throughout western Canada.  Along with his team, Jason always strives for quality and progressive creative solutions for the evolving demands of the industry and consumers alike.


Jean Openshaw, Vice President of Sales, Bosa Properties 
As Vice-President Sales for Bosa Properties and BlueSky Properties, Jean oversees all sales activity for the companies? new multi-family developments. Since joining Bosa in 2006, Jean has been involved in the sales strategy of over 3,000 homes throughout greater Vancouver and Victoria, and provides strategic input on all matters related to the sales, marketing and design for projects in both companies. In her role Jean is responsible for all customer-facing team members, is the managing broker for Bosa Properties Realty, and is the steward of Bosa?s Customer Experience program. Jean resides in Coquitlam with her husband and 4 year old son.
