CHRISTOPHER MULLINS PRESENTATION (ALTUS)

In Metro Vancouver, housing starts are on the rise and the city is hitting record construction costs across the country. In addition, the recently imposed steel tariffs and unceasing trade war are impacting the rising cost of construction on all fronts.

UDI's newest morning session will be moderated by Omicron Development's CEO, Bill Tucker, who will delve into the core issues of building in these challenging residential, commercial and industrial markets. He will be joined by Dan Turner of PCI Developments,
Jeff Thompson of Ledcor and Christopher Mullins of Altus Group who will also discuss the Building Construction Price Indexes.

What are the alternatives to designing and constructing smarter, more cost effective and efficient residential and commercial buildings? The panel will address how members can prepare for these constant changes of hard and soft construction costs including price increases of materials, access to labour and navigating trades in a competitive marketplace.

What does this mean for future projects, when will it all end, and who will be left standing - our panel will work to answer these questions.

Featured panel:
  • Christopher Mullins, Senior Director, Cost & Project Management, Altus Group
  • Jeff Thompson, Vice President Business Development, Ledcor
  • Bill Tucker, CEO, Omicron Canada (Moderator)
  • Dan Turner, Executive Vice President & Partner, PCI Developments
