At our recent lunch, Minister Coleman briefly outlined two key changes to the building regulatory framework in British Columbia. This seminar will drill down into more detail about these changes, featuring key speakers:
The first change is the introduction of the Building Act, which establishes the Province as the sole authority to set building requirements and removes the powers of local governments to impose their own requirements (e.g. green roofs), so there are more consistent building requirements across the Province.
There are also changes to how Building Officials will be regulated, as well as changes tohow provincial building regulations will allow for more innovation.
The Homeowner Protection Office has also recently passed a regulation which sets out licensing and continuing professional development requirements for builders and developers who construct residential buildings.
Come to find out more information about these important building reforms that will change the way you do business. This is your opportunity to ask questions from the regulators themselves.
