David Porte loves real estate and cares about people, and he’s certainly no stranger to this business. He spent his formative years observing his father build this company, founded in passion and ethics, and decided that he, too, would continue this tradition. Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce from the Division of Urban Land at U.B.C., David began officially working for the family company in 1991. Now, David leads Porte into the second generation, using the Porte Promises as his guide. He is actively engaged in day-to-day operations, overseeing development activities.
JOHN HORTON

John Horton is the founding partner and President of Shape Properties and Shape Living. John is actively involved in all aspects of Shape’s business from acquisitions and finance through to asset management and design. He has led several significant land bank acquisitions that currently form the diverse projects in Shape’s coveted portfolio. He has also overseen the major debt-financing required to execute on these large scale projects. With a strong commitment to creating superior, integrated communities with a world-class experience, John is regularly engaged on the architecture, design and marketing of these projects. He is integral in maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including billion-dollar pension fund partners, major lending institutions and municipal leaders. Under his leadership, Shape has experienced ongoing success such as extensive master-plan rezoning, over a billion dollars in debt financing and unprecedented residential sales.
PEETER WESIK

Wesgroup Properties
Peeter Wesik is the president of Wesgroup Properties, a family business started in British Columbia more than 50 years ago. Wesgroup is a private real estate organization with a diversified portfolio spanning residential and commercial real estate. Wesgroup has also invested in the equipment sales and service business under the brand names Williams Machinery and Westerra Equipment, with 8 branches located throughout BC. Peeter previously practiced law as a partner at Russell & DuMoulin (now Fasken Martineau DuMoulin) and is now involved in numerous industry associations including the Urban Development Institute, where he served as Director and Past Chair, and is a current Director of the Royal BC Museum.
JON STOVELL
President and CEO,
Reliance Properties Ltd.
Jon Stovell has been in the real estate investment and development industry for over 25 years. He works in all areas including acquisitions, finance, civic approvals, construction and marketing. For the past twenty years, he has served as General Manager and now President for Reliance Properties Ltd., a privately owned Vancouver company that has been active in the development, ownership and management of a wide variety of commercial and residential real estate for over 50 years. He has completed or is currently managing the development of over 1 billion in new development, construction and renovation projects in addition to managing an investment property portfolio in excess of 600 million in value. Recent or current projects include the Burns Block Micro-Lofts, 564 Beatty Office, West Pender Place in Coal Harbour and the one million square foot 54-storey Burrard Place with Jim Pattison Developments. In 2013 Reliance was awarded the most innovative company in BC award by BC Business Magazine for its Burns Block Micro-Lofts.
