UDI Webinar: How to Implement Workplace Diversity Practices
Join us for the second part of our webinar series featuring expert speaker Wyle Baoween of HRx Technology who specializes in using data to address inequalities in our communities and workplaces. Bronche Cheng of KPMG Canada, Greg Quandt of Hemmera and Tamara Vrooman of Vancouver Airport Authority will address diversity and inclusion from a human resources perspective and engage in a valuable discussion with Wyle to highlight real examples of tangible business-related benefits of a diverse and inclusive workplace and how to implement in our organizations.
The session will help us to learn more about the steps to implement and encourage these best practices in our workplaces for stronger, more inclusive teams. Everyone from CEO's and Presidents to those just starting their careers will benefit from this important and timely conversation. Wyle Baoween - CEO and Senior Facilitator, HRx Technology
Wyle works with executives, senior leaders and their teams to build diverse and inclusive organizations.
As CEO and Senior Facilitator of HRx, Wyle has worked with some of Canada's largest employers and has been recognized as one of Canada's thought leaders in diversity and inclusion for the solutions he has developed and re-engineered, including technology for assessing unconscious bias, the Diversity and Inclusion Culture Change Curve, and data analytics for diversity and inclusion.
Wyle, originally from Yemen, is an Engineer, with an MBA and is a certified Change Management and Project Management Professional. He is a Chair for the Vancouver Board of Trade's Committee for Diversity and Inclusion, President of the Yemeni Canadian Society, Board Member at MOSAIC and an Ambassador for the University of Victoria's Business School where he was recognized as one of the University's 25 Alumni to Watch.
Bronche Cheng - Tax Partner, KPMG Canada
Bronche Cheng is a Tax Partner at KPMG in Canada. She is also the HR Partner for KPMG's tax practice in the Greater Vancouver Area. She has over 20 years of experience providing tax services to REITs, developers, investors, and mortgage lenders. Bronche has been involved in structuring many capital market transactions including IPOs and private equity deals. She is also hands-on in providing day-to-day tax advice and compliance support for her clients.
In her HR role, Bronche is actively involved in recruiting, performance evaluation, career development, and annual compensation discussions for her team of 250 tax professionals at KPMG in Vancouver. She is an authentic leader who is open in sharing her experience as an immigrant, a woman, a mother of three young children and a professional in public practice. She is passionate about mentorship, team building, and grooming the next generation of leaders. She is a strong supporter of women in leadership, inclusion and diversity, and she encourages her team to give back to the community.
Greg Quandt, B.A.Sc., EP, PMP - Senior VP, Canada, Hemmera, an Ausenco Company
Greg is Senior VP responsible for Hemmera's business across Canada, part of Ausenco's Global Consulting practice. Hemmera provides full-service environmental consulting services to all sectors across the private and public sectors, helping our clients to understand and manage their environmental risks. Greg?s technical expertise is finding innovative solutions to environmental challenges within land development. Greg is a highly engaged participant of Hemmera's Diversity & Inclusion Committee and has been the Committee's Corporate Sponsor since early days of inception. Greg believes in fostering a culture of inclusive collaboration that creates enhanced opportunities for our staff and our clients.
Tamara Vrooman - President & CEO, Vancouver Airport Authority (YVR)
As President & CEO of Vancouver Airport Authority (YVR), a world-class hub with local roots, Tamara Vrooman understands the value of having an airport that is both an economic generator and community contributor a hub of innovation that gives back, supports the region and sets the bar for sustainability.
Prior to joining YVR, Tamara served for 13 years as the President & CEO of Vancity, Canada's largest community credit union. She assumed leadership of Vancity at the beginning of the global financial crisis and transformed the business and service model, delivering record profitability and doubling its assets. During her tenure, Vancity became a global reference point, and she became a leading voice in the Canadian and international financial sectors, demonstrating a successful new vision for values-based banking. This experience, combined with her comprehensive understanding of YVR gained by her previous nine-year tenure on our Board, make her the perfect leader to guide our team as we reimagine YVR?s role as a world-class, sustainable hub.
