BIOS

Rob De Pruis, Director, Consumer and Industry Relations, Western - Insurance Bureau of Canada
With over 25 years in the insurance industry, Rob has held various senior management roles in claims and risk management at some of Canada?s leading insurance companies. Rob joined IBC in May 2016 as the Insurance Industry Claims Liaison, serving as the primary claims contact for the property and casualty (P&C) insurance industry in the aftermath of the Fort McMurray wildfires. In this role, Rob was instrumental in communicating
insurance information to those affected by the disaster.

In his current role as Director, Consumer and Industry Relations, Rob directs the activities of IBC?s Consumer Information Centre for the Western and Pacific regions. He liaises with IBC?s member companies and consumers to negotiate solutions on issues that affect both parties and provides insurance insight to consumers. Rob also facilitates collaboration between the P&C insurance industry and relevant stakeholders on special projects and initiatives.

Rob is passionate about lifelong learning and holds numerous professional insurance industry designations. Rob has also served as a guest lecturer at the Insurance Institute of Canada and MacEwan University.


Tony Gioventu, Executive Director, Condominium Home Owners Association of British Columbia (CHOA) 
Tony is the Executive Director of the Condominium Home Owners Association of B.C. (CHOA), a consumer association in British Columbia with over 200,000 members comprising strata corporations, owners, and business members who serve the strata industry. In addition to serving on numerous boards and committees for government agencies and industry associations, Tony is the weekly columnist for The Province, The Times Colonist, and syndicated media across BC. Since 2002 Tony has written over 1,000 columns and information bulletins dedicated to condo living and is the co‐author of ?The Strata Property Act: A Practical Guide to Bylaws?, and ?Understanding Governance: Strata Rules of Order and Procedures in British Columbia.? With offices in New Westminster, Victoria and Kelowna CHOA provides service to its members throughout the province, promoting an understanding of strata living, and the interests of strata property owners. On average the association fields 300 inquiries a day from owners, strata council members, managers and agents, and delivers over 100 seminars annually on a variety of strata related topics including governance, operations and administration.



Danielle Russell, Client Executive, Vice President, CapriCMW
Dani Russell brings 10 years of insurance experience and expertise to her role as Client Executive, Vice President at CapriCMW. Dani specializes in providing custom insurance and risk solutions to real estate and property development companies, seniors health care facilities and strata corporations. She is passionate about helping business owners grow and protect their businesses. Dani is a proud, active member of the Vancouver Board of Trade, Professional Association of Managing Agents, and Condominium Home Owners Association. She holds her Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) and Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designations. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her young family and recently returned from a trip to build homes in Nicaragua.


Anne McMullin, President and CEO - Urban Development Institute (moderator) 
Anne McMullin is the President and CEO of the Urban Development Institute (UDI) ? the leading voice for the development industry in BC.  Anne joined UDI in 2012 following a career path which has incorporated extensive experience in Public Affairs and Community Engagement over a span of more than 20 years.  
 
Previous to her role at UDI, Anne was the President and General Manager of the North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce.  Prior to that she was Director of Communications at Port Metro Vancouver, President of the BC Salmon Farmers? Association, a reporter for Global TV in Vancouver, and a reporter and broadcaster for Mountain FM in Squamish.  Anne is a Board Member with UBC Properties Trust, a Trustee with the Jack Webster Foundation Excellence in Journalism and is a volunteer with many other community organizations. Previously Anne was a Board Member with BC?s Knowledge Network, Vice Chair of Field Hockey Canada and President of the West Vancouver Field Hockey Club. 
 
Anne studied political science at the University of British Columbia, and holds a journalism diploma from the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). In 2017 Anne received the BCIT Distinguished Alumni award.
