Date: January 18, 2021
Time: 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM PST
Registration: Sorry, public registration for this event has been closed.
Event Description:

2020 was a year unlike any other. Like many businesses, TransLink has had to rethink many aspects about how it delivers its services due to the pandemic, but it hasn’t changed the why. A robust transportation system is still key to Metro Vancouver’s long-term prosperity.

TransLink is focused on keeping its system safe, and simultaneously planning for a sustainable post-pandemic transportation system. What will life in our region look like after COVID-19? Has remote work affected where people want to live and where businesses decide to locate their offices? How will these changes impact how we think about transportation and land use? These are some of the big questions we need to ask in this rapidly changing landscape.

Kevin Desmond, CEO of TransLink will join UDI for his final address on the transformation of transportation in the region. Join us on January 18, 2021 to learn first-hand about the following topics:

  • How COVID-19 has challenged TransLink to think and operate differently
  • Transport 2050 and how the pandemic has influenced the region’s long-range transportation planning
  • Kevin Desmond’s advice for his successor, Mayors’ Council, and the Provincial and Federal governments

Anne McMullin, UDI President and CEO, will conclude the event with a moderated Q&A period.
