Women of UDI are excited to introduce our second Book Club event featuring The Stackable Boomer by David Allison.

At our last Book Club, we uncovered great insights from an in-depth group discussion and lively debate around how cities contribute - or not - to our overall happiness. We look forward to our next opportunity to invite ideas and discuss research presented in David’s book.

New guests are welcome to join the conversation. Please come prepared to share insights and discuss how ‘vertical living’ affects our life and how we work.

David Allison has kindly agreed to gift a copy of The Stackable Boomer to all Book Club members! Once registered, please pick-up your copy from the UDI office (200-602 West Hastings Street) between 9-5, M-F.

Featured Book: The Stackable Boomer

In 2004, David Allison founded a global real estate development marketing consultancy that has worked on hundreds of large-scale residential, commercial and recreational projects in Vancouver, across Canada, throughout the United States, and around the world. After ten years, he sold the firm to management. In 2015, he founded David Allison Inc., an advisory group that works with executive teams in real estate development and a variety of other industries to create the most interesting version of their corporate or project brand story.

Based on research with 1000 Baby Boomers across North America who have recently sold houses in the suburbs and moved to condos or apartments, The Stackable Boomer looks at fears, desires, wants and worries of these Boomers as they work through this difficult time in their lives. More than a dozen industry leaders and big thinkers: Charles Montgomery, Douglas Coupland, Larry Beasley, Harvard Professors, Authors, Architects, Developers, Sales leaders have also contributed their thoughts on the subject.
