BIOS

Claire MacLean, Chief Executive Officer of SHARE Family & Community Services Society (SHARE) & 43 Housing Society
SHARE provides a range of services to community members during times of vulnerability. This? includes services to address financial vulnerability (the local Food Bank, employment services, affordable housing), mental wellness (counselling, addiction services), disability (supports for children & youth with special needs), newcomers (services for refugee families, English practice groups), aging (transportation for seniors, social connection services) and early-middle childhood vulnerability (parenting programs, drop-in play groups). 43 Housing owns and operates 288 units of affordable housing for families, seniors and adults with disabilities who can live independently. Together SHARE and 43 Housing support over 22,000 people each year across Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, New Westminster, Anmore and Belcarra.

Originally from Calgary, Claire completed her Master?s of Science in Speech Language Pathology from UBC. She worked with children with special needs and their families in a range of settings including hospitals and schools in Calgary and Toronto. From there Claire spent over a decade working for the Ontario government managing programs for children with special needs, and working closely with local organizations to foster community development and optimal child outcomes.

Claire returned to BC in late 2015 and joined SHARE in 2016 as their Director of Children?s Programs. She was appointed as SHARE?s CEO in November 2017. Claire lives in Port Coquitlam and is a joyful wife, mother, sister, and daughter.

Sheryl Peters, Provincial Director ? Redevelopment Development Strategies, BC Housing
Sheryl joined BC Housing in 2009, with a portfolio that included partnerships with other senior government agencies, municipalities and non-profit housing providers in the delivery of affordable housing solutions in the province. Sheryl is a certified Project Management Professional with academics in urban geography (UBC) and architectural and building technologies (BCIT). She has over 22 years of experience in design, marketing, development and construction management, in both the private and public real estate sectors. Her career portfolio is a diverse range of projects that includes multi-residential developments; master planned / mixed use communities; hotels; neighbourhood shopping centres; and regional retail centres.

As Provincial Director ? Redevelopment, Sheryl manages the revitalization of aging BC Housing assets with the intention of modernizing sites to meet current housing demands and bringing forward best practices in sustainable design, engineering & construction.

In her spare time Sheryl volunteers with the Urban Development Institute (UDI) and enjoys interacting with public on all things real estate. Sheryl is passionate about facilitating affordable housing options and creating vibrant, complete & inclusive communities in BC.
