Event Description:

As the oldest city in western Canada, New Westminster has a long and rich history.  In 1859, it was selected as the first capital of the new colony of British Columbia and named the "New Westminster" by Queen Victoria, after her favourite part of London. Over the last 10 years, the city as undergone enormous changes. 

Join Lisa Spitale, Chief Administrative Officer for the City of New Westminster, and her team as they tour the Women of UDI through its historical streets, blooming with vibrant changes and new projects.

Location:

Please meet at Hyack Square, the public plaza on the corner of 8th Street and Columbia Street. 

If trave‎lling to New West via Skytrain, exit at the New Westminster station and head for the 8th Street exit. On 8th Street, head south for 1/2 a block (towards the Fraser River).
