Join us for The Women of UDI Committee?s 6th annual flagship event ? Women Celebrating Women. This year?s panel features a dynamic and vibrant discussion between three influential industry professionals, moderated by Lisa Spitale, Chief Administrative Officer from the City of New Westminster. Serving as the committee?s most popular event, it is a great opportunity to connect with industry peers while drawing inspiration from industry leaders.
We are delighted to welcome Janet Austin from YWCA, Flavia Boffo Punzo from Boffo Properties and Elva Kim from Anthem Properties who will share their insights and experience through the years.

BIOS
JANET AUSTIN
As CEO of YWCA Metro Vancouver, Janet Austin is responsible for one of BC?s largest and most diversified non-profits, delivering services to tens of thousands of people each year in more than 40 locations across Metro Vancouver. Janet is a recipient of the Business in Vancouver (BIV) Influential Woman in Business Award, the Vancouver Board of Trade Community Leadership Award and Wendy MacDonald Diversity Champion Award, the Queen?s Golden and Diamond Jubilee Medals. She received an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from Kwantlen Polytechnic University in 2013. In 2016, she was named BIV CEO of the Year in the Non-profit category and was invested in the Order of BC.
FLAVIA BOFFO PUNZO
As Principal of Boffo Properties, Flavia has extensive knowledge in construction and property development, starting back from the time when she was just four years old helping out with the family business. Everything from watering bark mulch to organizing empty planting pots in alphabetical order has contributed to a comprehensive and well-established knack for managing property development and construction services. She is truly a builder?s daughter. A graduate from BCIT and involved with the family business for over 30 years, Flavia has extensive experience with residential, commercial, and industrial projects. She plays an integral part in making sure each project reflects the core values of the company, incorporating sustainability, timeless design approaches and an emphasis on tradition so that each stage of any new home community is built for the future, while inspired from the past.
ELVA KIM
With 16 years of real estate development experience, Elva Kim is currently Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Anthem. Elva provides leadership and direction for Sales, Marketing, and Homeowner Care for the company?s extensive residential portfolio in British Columbia, Alberta and California. This includes more than 10,000 homes that are complete, in design or currently under construction, from master planned mixed-use residential and multi-family to townhome and single family communities and managing a dedicated team of 30-100 people at any given time. As a leading member of Anthem?s Corporate Communications and Giving team, Elva is also responsible for brand management and outreach programs which are designed to reflect Anthem?s corporate persona and values. Elva holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, and her real estate education is from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia. Anthem is a real estate development, investment and management company. Alone or in partnership ? has more than 190 residential, commercial and retail projects with an aggregate value of approximately $5 Billion and 6.2 million square feet of retail, industrial, residential rental and office space and currently holds over 5,000 acres of land across Western North America.
LISA SPITALE
Lisa Spitale is the Chief Administrative Officer for the City of New Westminster. She holds a Masters degree in Planning from the UBC and is a Registered Professional Planner, with 30 years of experience. Lisa has been employed with the City of New Westminster for the past 25 years, and has held several senior management positions at the City including: the Director of Development Services managing three departments ? Planning, Building Permits, and Licensing and Integrated Services; and the Director of Strategic Services managing economic development, gaming, business and liquor licensing, and bylaw enforcement. Under her leadership, New Westminster has realized unprecedented residential and commercial growth, and has helped spearhead many of the City?s most important projects and plans including the 12 time award winning Westminster Pier Park, the award winning iconic Anvil Centre and Office Tower, and the award winning Downtown Community Plan.
