However\, GHG emissions is a notable omission from the Step Code and is being layered on as an additional requirement\, notably by the City of Vancouver\, but also by institutional and private sector clients who see GHG emission reductions as a priority.\n\n\n\n \n\nThe electrification of projects can take on many forms\, with the optimal design contingent on the load profile of the building largely governed by the performance of the building envelope and ventilation systems. This session will kick-off by contextualizing the energy performance of buildings in today's landscape both in the importance of using GHG emissions targets to ensure climate outcomes and in achieving the necessary co-benefits to occupants who will live there. In the feature presentation\, experienced mechanical engineering firm\, AME\, will walk through three electrification projects ranging in performance from code to Passive House\, highlighting the opportunities and challenges along the way.\n\n \n\nA facilitated audience discussion with City of Vancouver participation will follow the presentations.\n\n \n\nThis event has been approved for 2 AIBC Core Learning Units.\n\n \n\nAgenda\n\n8:30am - breakfast + networking\n\n9:00am - presentations\n\n10:40am - breakout group\, facilitated discussion\n\n11:15am - event ends\n\n \n\nSpeakers\n\nKevin Shea - AME Group\n\nGerard McDonald - Reshape Strategies\n\nZGF Architects X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:
